For Mother's Da,y during the Sunday school hour at church, the kids did a program for the parents. It was really cute. They sang a couple songs to us and Peyton had a duet with another little boy for part of the song. She sings like crazy at home with lots of energy and enthusiasm, but lately when she hits the stage, she definitely has some stage fright. It is almost like she is finally figuring out about being self-conscious. She talks about being embarrased about things sometimes and she used to never talk about that. It is just funny. Before officially joining the big kid choir, the little kids would sing in front of the church and she'd be the loudest one. Now, she sings quietly or mumbles around and just kind of looks down most of the time. She is still super cute though.
She also sang with my mom and I during the church service. My mom and I are a part of the Women's Ensemble, which is a group of women who sing at special services throughout the year. It is bascially a group of women who like to sing, but can not committ to singing each week in the sanctuary choir (or don't feel like they are quite good enough to sing with them). So, for Mother's Day the children's choir, Women's Ensemble, and the women from the sanctuary all sang a Mother's Day song together. It was a beautiful song and it was very sweet to have so many moms and kids singing together.
Here is a video of Peyton's duet.
That was very sweet. I can't wait to see you all!!
