Karsten's class had a very cute kindergarten presentation for the parents on the last day of school. Karsten's teacher, Mrs. Magana, has been so creative all year in inviting parents into the classroom monthly for a Family Fun Day and making cute little spiral bound books with samples of the children's writings and pictures from field trips and classroom activities. She usually had a cute activity for the parents to do with the kids from making paper mache pumpkins to looking through an owl's regurgitated hairball for bones of little animals that it ate. For the last day of school, she made a book for each of the kids with a writing sample from each month that they were in school. It was fun to see the improvement in their handwriting and ability to put together sentences improved over the school year. She also made each child a CD of pictures of that specific child that she had taken in the classroom and on field trips throughout the year. I don't know how she had time to make one for each child and only put pictures of that child on it. The kids each got a graduation certificate and the class sang us a luau song, which as really cute.

Karsten has had an amazing year. He is reading above grade level and he has advanced math skills. This is a description of Karsten from his teacher "Karsten is such a wonderful child. His positive attitude, enthusiasm for learning, and desire to contribute to our lessons made him a joy to work with each day." He loved his teacher very much and is already talking about how much he will miss her next year. We could not have asked for a better teacher or a better year for Karsten. We are so proud of all of his hard work this year.
