Louisa and BJ had their sweet little boy, Colton Read early Thursday morning. He was a week overdue and, after an ultrasound to try to confirm his size showed him at 10 lbs, Louisa headed to her OB to find out that although only dilated to 1/2 a cm, her water was broken and she was ready to go. They checked into the hospital at noon on Wednesday and finally a little after 1am on Thursday morning her body was finally ready to have that baby. After a little more work, he finally made his entrance to the world at 2:45am and we were greeted in the waiting room by BJ in his blue shirt holding little Colton. His gender and name had been a surprise, so we were all the more excited to see BJ. He ended up being only (ha, ha) 8 lbs 14 oz and a healthy little thing. I was so lucky that Louisa wanted me in the delivery room with her. I was able to be there until right at the very end when they wanted to take her to the OR room just in case that big boy didn't want to come all the way out. This was the first time I had been on this side of a delivery and it was an amazing experience. Louisa was amazing and BJ was the perfect husband. It was an honor to be a part of such a personal and intimate experience. I love them so much and am so excited to having another sweet little nephew!
