My mom has been trying to plan a family camping trip for years. It was usually messed up by me or Stacey being largely pregnant or with a newborn. One year, right after Cooper was born, they all tried to go without me and Rob to a place near Dallas and had to take cover at local hotel due to rain and a tornado warning. So, this year when we found out that the 80 degree weather at the beginning of the week was going to turn into lows in the 30s by the end of the week, we were very disappointed. So, instead of camping and spending the night, we just headed out for the day and built a camp fire and played and biked and hiked and just messed around until dark and then came home. We cooked hot dogs and sausage over the campfire and roasted marshmallows, so really we enjoyed the best part anyway. Dad and Curtis even put up a tent for the kids to play in. When the low that night was in the 20s in the Hill Country, we were very glad that we decided to modify our camping trip.
You guys ALL have to come to my parent's place for our campout in the spring! Best of all is the house on property for running water and a real toilet:)
