Peyton loves to read historical fiction and has a favorite book told from the perspective of a little girl in Texas during the time that Texas independence was won. She also really enjoys a book about Susanna Dickinson and her involvement with the Alamo. So, she and my mom decided that it would be fun to take a trip to San Antonio to the Alamo while we had Maddie and Adam with us for Spring Break. The kids did not get quite as much out of it as the adults did, but they did have fun seeing the replicas of the whole mission/battleground as well as the cannons, guns, and sabers that they used during the battle. A little refresher on Texas history is always good for me. We ended the evening at Mi Tierra and had a wonderful Mexican food dinner.
