Karsten's t-ball team made it to the second round of playoffs. With as many t-ball teams as there were, that was pretty good. He progressed a ton over the season. In soccer, he has always been a very coach-able kid, with a good attitude, and a good ability to balance having fun and working hard. But this t-ball season, he started the season off easily distracted, mostly wanting to just be silly with his friends. After one game of watching him in the outfield throw his baseball cap on the ground, jump on it, and laugh hysterically between every single batter, I was ready to just call it quits (for all of us). But about half way through the season, something just sort of clicked for him. He started paying attention in practice more, wanting to practice at home all the time, and really progressing with his game. He ended the season rotating through first base, third base, and pitcher, which are all important positions for having good catching skills and for being able to focus on the game. It was so fun watching him get better game after game and still have that good attitude and ability to not get too serious about the game. And, he looked so cute in that uniform. There is nothing cuter than a team of 5 and 6 year olds in their uniforms. Now he wants to play basketball, so we signed him up for a summer league.
