Peyton's softball season

Peyton had her last softball game last weekend at the same time as Karsten's birthday party. Her team made it to the end-of-season championship game and ended up losing to their long-time rival, who they had lost to every game this season.  Peyton was very excited to get a trophy, and after looking at her buddy's trophy who was on the winning team, was satisfied that the only difference in their trophies was that theirs was just a little bit bigger.

Peyton really did improve tremendously the last 1/3 of the season.  She was making contact at most of her at-bats and definitely was doing better in the outfield.  She played catcher some, left and right field the most, and sometimes 3rd base.  One coach, in particular, was so supportive of her and always made it a point to find me after the games and tell me how well Peyton did and how proud he was of her.  He really made a huge difference in her progress this season and I appreciate the extra time he spent with her on the sidelines practicing skills with her over and over until she got the hang of it.

She is excited to play again in the fall.  She will move up to player-pitch, so it will be a really different game.  Since the girls pitch to each other, Rob said that most of the time the girls just walk each other.  It should be an interesting season.
