End of the year!!!

The kids all finished a wonderful year at school!  They all did so well and I loved their teachers.
 
Karsten got all 4s on his report card (highest score is 4) for both academic and behavior areas. He also got perfect attendance and the Computer Whiz award from his teacher for his help on the class power point presentation.   His teacher's comments on his report card were:
Puts time and effort into projects. 
Reading above grade level. 
Especially strong in Math. 
Current DRA level is 30 (started the year at 14). 
Karsten is a wonderful student who has been a pleasure to have in class!  He is well prepared for second grade!  Have a great summer!

He is cooperative and helpful.  His willingness to help others has made him a very popular member of the class. 
Peyton got all A+ in all academic areas and 4s in all her behavioral areas.  Comments from her teacher on her report card:

Peyton has exceeded academic expectations in all areas.  I have truly enjoyed watching her grow as a young student!  She is such a creative and thoughtful writer and thinker.  In addition, she has shown confidence when presenting her work in front of her peers.   Peyton, keep reading over the summer!  Keep a journal to record your thoughts and adventures!  Please come visit next year!  You are doing to do an amazing job in 4th grade!
Cooper did really well in Pre-K this year.  My worry was that being a July boy, he would struggle to keep up with the older children in his kindergarten class.  Behaviorally, I was not worried as he has always been a really good listener in his other preschool classes.  He got all 4s in his academic areas, except for writing.  Fine motor skill is something he really needs to work on.  His teacher recommended doing "homework" at home.  I convinced Cooper that this was a daily mandatory assignment. He would choose one letter a day to practice writing uppercase and lowercase and then write a word that starts with it.  He was very diligent about doing his homework daily. For the personal development areas, he got all 4s, except Exhibits appropriate fine motor skills and Demonstrates self- discipline, where he got a 3.  Comments from his report card:
Cooper, you have done a great job of keeping up with your homework, and I can see that it has made a difference in your writing. You are a good listener in class and you use your conflict-resolution skills help negotiate solutions to problems when they do arise.
I am so proud of all 3 for a really good year.
