Peyton's volleyball

Peyton played volleyball for the very first time this fall.  She played through the YMCA, which turned out to be a really nice league to play in.  Peyton's team didn't have a coach even leading up to a week before the season started, so I volunteered to coach her team along with a long time friend of mine whose daughter was also on the team.  We had so much fun coaching and the girls were all so sweet and improved dramatically throughout the short 6 game season.  We were a little bit like the Bad News Bears and didn't win a match the whole season, but the girls were serving and passing so much better with each game that we decided to focus on those stats instead of the score of the game. So, I dutifully kept stats for each girl on my little clipboard each game, reporting the total number of passes and serves over the net each game.  The girls loved beating their stats from the previous game, which seemed to help offset the disappointment of a loss. Peyton was a really good passer, but was really inconsistent with her serves.  She seemed to really enjoy it and wants to play again.
