Cooper Update

Cooper is quite a ball of energy. He is absolutely hilarious and totally a 2 year old at the same time. His favorite activity is taking whatever Peyton and Karsten are playing with and running off with it. He thinks it is hilarious and they think it is completely annoying. He really only wants whatever they are interested in and gets pretty darn upset if he doesn't get it. We are really working on taking turns and regularly set the oven timer for 5 minute intervals so toys are "shared" fairly. It works most of the time. Although he gets really upset really quickly, he actually responds to the sharing and taking turn thing pretty well.

His vocabulary has taken off and thing things does and says are so funny. Today, when we dropped him off at Sunday school, he hesitated in the doorway (as usual) and when he finally walked into the room, he lifted his shirt and pushed his belly button with his finger and said "ding-dong". There was no "hi" or "hello" or anything, just "ding-dong". His teachers all just laughed. We were at the doctor's office earlier this week because they had forgotten to give him one of his vaccinations at his 2 year visit and the preschool needed him to have it. He knew he was going in for a shot because Karsten kept reminding him of it. We were in the waiting room and he starting laughing and being silly and saying "Shot, hurt, cry" and pretending to cry and give me hugs. He thought he was being so cute making fun of the fact that he was about to get a shot and it would hurt. His tune changed a bit when the nurse came in with the vaccination and then the real tears starting falling. I don't know if he is truly funnier than Peyton and Karsten were at this age, or if he is just cute because he is the littliest, but we is constantly keeping us all in stitches. I am so curious to see what he will be like when he gets older.

So far, Cooper is the only one to get Rob's curls. I have been letting his hair grow out more and his curls are so cute. This week they were getting a little out of hand and so he and Karsten both got a hair cut. When my mom showed up to Karsten's soccer game, she was so upset that his curls were gone. She said, "I can't believe you cut his curls off. I mean, there were his curls, all of over the floor, and they just threw them in the trash." It was so funny. I promised her that his hair will grow back out and the curls will return.
