Peyton had off from school on Monday, so we decided to go to the zoo. Recently, we had a few people tell us about the Waco zoo recently and since it is only 30 minutes farther away than the San Antonio zoo, we gave it a shot. It is a really nice zoo. It is a little smaller than SA, but had a lot of interactive things for the kids to do at the different exhibits. It also was not crowded at all, which was really nice since we always run into school buses full of kids on field trips at the SA zoo. Rob had a really busy tax extension season, so this was a really nice family day for us.
Peyton with the alligators...
Karsten with the wolves. This was the coolest thing. The wolf kept walking around his cage and then coming back to this ledge right by the glass and just sitting there. The kids were literally inches from it and they were pretending to pet it and sit by it. It was hilarious.
Peyton and Karsten by the giraffes.

Cooper pretending to get eaten by the fake lizard...
The orangutan exhibit was also really cool. They had ropes that the kids could climb on and swing from and this statue. Besides Karsten kicking Cooper in the face while he was swinging on the ropes, the kids had a great time.

  1. We went to the free day at the Houston Zoo a few weeks ago and also had a great time. Wyatt and Mason actually appreciated the exhibits for the first time. We will definately be back!
