Karsten finished his season with one of his best games. He improved greatly over the season, becoming more involved with the play on the field and less of just a spectator running alongside the action. He smiled and laughed throughout all the games, regardless of how often he actually touched the ball, so that is what is most important. We are so proud of him for trying something new and really giving it his best effort and he is excited to play again in the spring.

They had an end-of-the-season party and each child was given an award and a really cute bobble head trophy. Karsten won the best defender award. His coach said that he always kept himself between the ball and the goal. That was really just a nice way of saying that instead of running to the opponent to kick the ball away from him, Karsten would run for the goal and just stand there. The was really against the rules since they don't play with goalies in his league, but no one seemed to really care. So, 3 cheers for our little defender!!!

We have got to give soccer another try. I think they will be better than when they were 3:)
