Peyton's birthday/Shaw Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas, Louisa's birthday, and Peyton's birthday with the Shaw side of the family on Peyton's actual birthday.  It is hard to believe that she is now 10 years old.  I have a child in the double digits!!!  She is a beautiful, smart, and caring young woman.  She loves to read and diligently does her homework and school projects without needing any encouragement from me.  She is a very confident student and sometimes needs to be reminded to slow down, take her time, and be a little neater.  She and Karsten continue to drive each other crazy.  It just seems to be their dynamic right now.  They have moments of playing beautifully together and then are screaming at each other the next moment.  She is much more patient with Cooper and still is ready to help him with whatever game/toy/school project he is struggling with.  She really enjoys Legos and spends many hours a week at our train-turned-Lego table with the boys.  She enjoys electronics, but will grab a book before she grabs her DS.  Sports still don't come as naturally to her as others, but she enjoys playing them, shows progress, and we continue to encourage her to play them.  What she excels the most in is roller skating and jumping on her pogo stick.  She has many friends, but not one best friend that she does everything with.  She plays with different girls each day on the playground and everyone seems to really like her.  She doesn't to get involved in any silly fighting and I think that is why she is liked by so many girls. She enjoys leadership roles at church, always volunteering to read a scripture in church or take on a lead roll in the church musical or Sunday school performance.  She has quite a cute sense of humor, but not in a show off way, and she makes me smile and laugh at the funny things she comes up with.  There are brief glimpses of pre-teen drama, but in general she is pretty laid back and rolls with the punches.  She is an absolute joy and I feel so blessed to have her as a daughter.
