Cooper's 2nd birthday

Well, Cooper is now 2 years old. It is hard to believe that it has been that long since he was born. His personality is definitely his own. He is much more adventurous than Peyton and Karsten and has much more energy than they did. He is very athletic and loves balls, bats, and anything he can hit or throw around. His personality has been pretty laid back. He just sort of goes with the flow of what is going on in the house.

But, he definitely got the memo that he turned 2 because he is really acting like a 2 year old. He is starting to throw fits and get really mad when he doesn't get his way. Sometimes he throws things, sometimes he screams and cries, sometimes he runs away crying. It is all actually pretty darn cute and thankfully we all just smile and laugh at his attempts to exert his will. I guess when you have 3 kids, no one really gets their way too often, so I am not really afraid that he will be spoiled. My mom was laughing the other day that we used to say Cooper was so easy, but now with his energy and his independence, he is starting to be a bit more of a challenge.

We had a nice family party for his birthday. Ray and Erin and Alex came in town that weekend and Louisa and BJ, Mom and Dad, and Paw Paw and his friend Carol all came over for dinner and cake. It was very relaxed and the kids were all so well behaved. This was, by far, the easiest and most enjoyable party that I have ever thrown for our kids. Here is his cake and, yes, I did make it:

My mom made Cooper a matching quilt to Karsten's with basketballs all over it. This is Cooper giving my mom a hug after he opened it.
